iPhone killer or a copycat competitor?

Have you seen the commercial for the Motorola Droid ad campaign?  Check it out at left and note how it is taking digs at Apple's iPhone while illustrating Motorola's support for the Android operating system.  Competition is good for every-one, especially the consumer.

• According to a source Engadget Mobile has been in contact with, Droid is a new Verizon Wireless smartphone brand. In addition to what's currently known as the Motorola Droid (not confirmed as the actual marketing name yet), the upcoming HTC Desire all-touch smartphone powered by Android and Sense UI will be marketed as the Droid Eris. On November 5th., 2007 CNN announced... "Google is developing free cell phone software that will help send mobile ads to consumers. Google said the software, called Android, will be available on phones starting in the second half of 2008. Google won't be making Android-equipped handsets."
